On an 11.5ha site, the former James Hardie site at Rutland Avenue in Welshpool contained approximately 35,000m2 of asbestos-clad warehouses, outbuildings containing approximately 70,000m2 of asbestos-containing material and 4000 tonnes of steel.
The scope of work for Brajkovich Demolition & Salvage included asbestos removal and abatement for the entire site, as well as demolition and removal of all above-ground structures. Additionally, full environmental works subject to independent audit under the provisions of the Contaminated Sites Act (2005) were completed to allow the site to be redeveloped at the client’s request by related entities.
